Barnes Wallis Foundation Launch New Website

The Barnes Wallis Foundation, the new Charitable Incorporated Organisation established in July 2014, is proud to announce the launch of its new website www.barneswallisfoundation.org. The new website reflects the Foundation’s re-focused key commitments to inspire, inform and advance education in aeronautical and engineering design, drawing upon and in memory of, the life and work of Sir Barnes Wallis.

The new website effectively communicates the lifetime of work achieved by Sir Barnes Wallis and has been designed in a way to entice the visitor to ‘explore’ the site and find new and surprising discoveries about Wallis and his life along the way. The website also contains information on what work the Foundation is undertaking within various schools, universities and other academic institutions, including a new 3 year initiative to provide a sponsored scholarship for a Barnes Wallis Academy student to attend Space Camp at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama USA.

“We are very pleased with the look, feel, and usability of our new website,” said Robert Owen, Chairmain of the Barnes Wallis Foundation. “Our visitors will now be able to learn more about what we do and how we encourage the next generation of engineers and designers. We are especially excited that the new website makes it so easy for the public to explore and learn more about the incredible achievements and contributions to engineering that Barnes Wallis made throughout his life.”
